MY LEARNING FALL AND RISE

On my first day in this class I was nervous and worry at the same time. I didn’t know if this class was going to be hard or easygoing. I was looking around the classroom to see if there is anything that can tell me how is this class going to be but there was nothing and on the board I read the agenda and it said “to be an open source learning network or not to be an open source learning network?” I was confused for a moment because I didn’t know what Dr. Preston met by open source learning network. When Dr. Preston was explaining how is the class going to be I was thinking “this class is going to be hard”and then he ask us if we wanted open source learning or not. Dr. Preston gave us some minutes to think about it as a class and how do we want the class to run like. All the student agree that they wanted open source learning. When the next few days of getting everything settled for this class and starting the class with a journal every day is helpful and has challenging topic but it is great because it help us with the agenda. For example, if we we’re going to read a poetry we would have a journal topic about the poem or something related to it. The month of October we had a journal about "Why do people procrastinate? How does it affect your life? What can you do about it?" it was the perfect topic because I relate to it and it has affect my grade. New challenges I face was doing the blog because it was difficult to make and posting video about memorizing the poetry was hard for me. It is difficult to memorize the whole poem but little by little it will be in your head but for me it was hard. When we had the vocabulary final I made a flash card on quiz-let to study. On the day of the test I did my best and hope I did great. When I stated in August I was low on reading and writing but throughout the semester I think I have improve. I enjoy reading all the poems like, "The Socratic Method, and The Right to Your Opinion" as a class and have discussion about it and it was helpful because you understand it better. Now I have improve my writing by doing all the journal and understanding the vocabulary word. Something that I will never forget is "A dream Within A Dream" because I sometime think "That my days have been a dream". What I enjoy in your class was when you told us a funny story about the women that can read your hand it was a funny story.

My Brain On Thanksgiving Break

Over the break I didn’t focus on the “list of living well” I just focused on #7 and not starting with #1. I had the chance to get things done but I didn’t use my time wisely. Now, since  break is over I have so much work to do and less time.

FIRST IMPRESSION (ON SELF-RELIANCE)

At the beginning of the essay “On Self- Reliance” I did not understood what it meant but once Dr. Preston explain it more I understood it and I find myself relating to some of his ideas from the essay.
